Voodoo, has always been a source of fascination with people and especially now with so many wanting to learn voodoo spells. Because of the popular media, people have always been misinformed as to what voodoo is, assuming it's a cult when really in essence it's a religion, just like Christianity or Jedi.

In this article I will discuss Voodoo's fact from fiction caused by the media.

1. Hollywood.

Blame is on Bela Lugosi, his 1944 film: 'The Voodoo Man'. Is predictable at best, with the Voodoo dolls and black magic. There is good and evil in all things, Voodoo also has white magic too! And, is just as common place, its just don't discussed because its not as notorious enough.

2. Hollywood Again!

Hollywood would love to let us know there is only one type of Voodoo that can be found in one place in the world but did you know there are more than one type of Voodoo. In actual fact, you will find Voodoo in Louisiana, Haitian (Vodou), and West Africa (Vodun).

The latter being the one kind of Voodoo people most probably recognize, although its hideously gets the wrong impression.

3. Voodoo Black Magic.

Its true that most people are more interested in negative 'things' rather than be turned on by positive motives. And, the same is true of the media whether its in written or movie form. Black Magic is what attracts people to Voodoo. Remember, there is white magic too.

Take for example, where a child is feeding some ducks, very few bother to take any notice, yet, people definitely take notice when a major traffic accident occurs and everybody stops.

The point: Its seems evil is more interesting than good.
