The Gothic Vampire Coat

The vampire coat is also often known as the Gothic style trench coat.

Usually made of PVC or leather, it is very long or even full length.

Sometimes it is made from velvet, but men tend to prefer a stronger style of fabric. The soft option tends to include frills around the cuffs or neck area. The more masculine option is usually clean cut with defined lapels and pockets.

So why the rather creepy name?

This Gothic style appearance is somewhat creepy, similar to the overall 'Goth' image of black eye makeup, black or red hair and blood red or black lips.

Old and new horror movies often have the main 'defenders of good' sporting such a garment, as they do their job of combating evil, and driving a stake through the vampires heart.

This garb is most commonly seen in black, and often has some design work on the upper back part.

A red silk lining allows an even more dramatic effect when the buttons are left undone.

You will see designs that are close fitting and straight and others that are fitted down to the waist band then flared from the waist down.

When you choose your clothing you are create an image, and this style presents an image of a confident self assured man. If the wearer is not an extrovert he will still give the illusion that he is a very confident individual just by his fashion choice.

To create an aura of mystery, to stand out and to get noticed, an ideal choice for outerwear is the vampire coat.
